"Rodney the Lifeguard" shows us how to have a good time in Ocean City, MD

Recently, PRODUCERS and MGH teamed up to create two hilariously funny spots for the Ocean City, Maryland Office of Tourism. Even with Hurricane Joaquin tearing up beaches and flooding the Eastern seaboard, the production team from PRODUCERS continued planning the two day shoot and working with the incredible team from Ocean City to pull off the planned end of season filming. The funny premise and scripting from the creative team at MGH was ready to go…all that was needed was a good weather window.

Executive Producer Ross Jones and Director Rip Lambert monitored weather reports 24/7 looking for the best opportunity to capture a mid-summer look in the middle of the fall storm season. Having secured locations and scouted with key crew, the team found the window and headed down. The ambitious shooting schedule with 5 locations each day went off like clockwork.

Post-production of the project was completed at PRODUCERS 14,000 sq. ft. facility in Baltimore’s Woodberry neighborhood. Editor David Hudson had plenty of humorous scenarios to select from and crafted two very funny spots. To give the commercials that mid-summer look the agency and client needed, Colorist Kirk Davis pulled out all the stops in his Quantel Pablo suite. Senior Audio Designer Mike Brilhart put the finishing touches on the spots with sound editing, mixing and a great music choice.

Be sure to watch the commercials here and here.
